Professor of English, and author, Ms. Marisa Mark

Professor Mark earned a bachelor’s of arts in English and two master’s degrees; one in English and the other in interdisciplinary studies from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. She was the third person to graduate from Texas Tech with a concentration in Women’s Studies, and she actively served on the task force which formulated the Women’s Studies master’s degree program.

She has published various articles on literature, cinema, and art for professional publications and newspapers.

She also does professional editing. Before coming to WIU in 2000, she was an advertising copy and children’s program writer in Mountain Home Arkansas, a news staff writer for channel 18 in Lafayette, Indiana, a book reviewer for the Lafayette Journal Currier, a feature writer for The Frankfort Times (Indiana), and worked for the Godbold Cultural Center in Lubbock Texas. Since coming to Webber in 2000, she has taught various levels of English and business communications, ESL, film and humanities survey.
